Desmond's new developments
Okay, I know I am way behind in uploading pictures and videos but we have been super busy lately. I promise I will get to the pictures and videos this weekend, assuming I have permission from Harn to hold off on cleaning and organizing the house (we just moved back!) and sending out invitations. Here's an update of what's been happening with little Des:
1. He started pulling himself up! We put him in the crib one day and he just started pulling himself into a kneeling position. Then after a couple more tries, he pulled himself to stand! Yes, we got this on camera.
2. He's still not crawling yet, which is good. I think I have been subconsciously trying to delay him from crawling by not enforcing my parents to give him as much tummy time as he should be getting. Crawling is over-rated. Once a baby crawls, we'll have to child-proof everything and it'll become a chase game with him so I haven't been beating myself up about him not crawling. Besides, he's definitely more interested in walking than crawling as he always want to pull himself up and walk towards us. BUT, this morning, Desmond did start to pulling himself forward. It's really funny because he was pulling himself forward as if he has no legs! Wow, that guy has some strong arm muscles to be able to do that! And yes, we have a short clip to show too. He got frustrated in the end because no matter how hard he tries, we always take away his prize in the end (his daddy's phone). Hmmm... I wonder if that means he'll start to crawl soon? eh.... trouble is coming! -____-"
3. Desmond is a talker/singer. Okay, so he can't sing well enough to qualify him for the next American Idol but whenever I sing "Itzy Bitzy Spider", he blabbers along. It's really cute. Too bad I don't have it on video. They say one side of your brain controls motor skills and the other is emotions and communication skills. I definitely think Desmond is more developed in emotions and communications rather than motor. The whole neighborhood will know if he's unhappy! hahaha

Quick update (photos to come later)
Okay, it's time for me to write an update. I figure it's better to write a quick post in English than none in Chinese so here it is. I'll try to post more pictures later.
1. Desmond is now 8+ months old. He still doesn't know how to crawl yet but it's okay. I know as soon as he starts crawling he'll be trouble so I don't mind delaying that for a little bit longer. He just learned to stand holding onto something.
2. We are moving back to Harn's place this weekend!!! Oh my gosh, I am so excited! Desmond will finally get his own room! We'll paint it and decorate it. But most importantly, he can finally learn to fall asleep on his own! Baby - mommy and daddy love you a ton but you really got to learn to how sleep by yourself! I can't even remember when it was the last time I slept for more than 6 hours uninterrupted! Lately, I could barely sleep for 4 without him crying (either because it's too hot, too cold or that I move too much)
3. His second tooth came out (as you can see from my previous post). And... that means he's turned into a biter! He bit me so many times this weekend. I don't know why he doesn't bite daddy, only mommy! =(
4. Everything is "mamama" right now. When he's hungry, happy, sad, frustrated, sleepy, dirty diaper, he babbles "mama". It's really cute to hear him say it but I'm teaching him to start saying "baba" next time he needs a diaper change! ^_^
5. Desmond knows how to wave "bye bye". Well, he only does it sometimes but it's really cute when he does it. He would wave his little hand and open and close his fingers. I think with more practice, he'll master this.
6. He also knows how to give a "kiss". Well, so far, he will only kiss daddy (and sometimes mommy). It's really cute because he always open his mouth and move his face towards Harn until he touches Harn's face, as if he's trying to eat him! haha
7. We went clam-digging this weekend and Desmond LOVES to play with water! We're thinking of taking swimming lessons this summer. Matthew will be going too so they're going to have lots of fun!
8. Oh yes, he's developed "stranger anxiety". We have relatives visiting this past weekend, and Desmond would not let anyone hold him but me, dad or grandpa. He would cry as soon as my aunt took him. Actually, let me correct that - he did let Sarah hold him for a little bit this weekend. We joked that he only lets young and pretty women hold him! haha
9. He's got a BIG tummy! He's still very slender and tall but he's got a big tummy, especially after he eats! Grandma says he looks like an athelete because he's got "little mouse" (muscles) on his arms. Let me try to take a picture of his fat tummy. It feels as if he's gained a lot of weight over the past week or two. He actually feels "heavy" now!

Weekly Update
這個禮拜的update:
1. 緯寶寶坐得越來越穩了
2. 第一次坐high chair
3. 這個禮拜上課沒有像上次哭得那麼厲害。而且﹐我們也結交了比緯寶寶遲出生8天的但比緯寶寶重四磅的Michael。(Desmond=17lb, Michael=21lb)
4.“小白一號”快要出現啦! 我們除了可以用指頭摸到下面開始突出來的牙齒﹐今天也開始可以看到了! 不用幾天﹐牙齒就要出來咯!

今天早上我们带了宸纬和momo 去了cougar Mountain hiking. 本来以为会阳光普照，可是太阳总是躲着不出来。我们因为忘了带小手套，纬宝宝的手被寒风吹得冰冰的。为了要赶快出门，纬宝宝也来不及好好地 nap，所以中途就在爸爸的胸膛睡着了。再醒来的时候，我们已经在下山了。宸纬看起来好像还蛮喜欢登山的。以后只要周末天气好，我们就会常带他出去户外。
上午登山后，下午我们带了宸纬去了Bellevue Square's Gymboree上了他的第一堂课。胆子小的宸纬在姐姐开始唱歌时就开始大哭了。哎哟，真的要多点带这个孩子出去见见世面。堂堂男子汉大丈夫，这么容易就哭可不行。
说到哭，最近不晓得为什么，宸纬常常会在半夜哭醒。人家说小孩每跨越一个milestone都会兴奋得睡不好。是吗？那样子，他半夜醒来是因为最近开始可以自己坐啰？我还以为他快要出牙齿呢。说道牙齿，为什么还没有看见“小白一号”出现呢？

半歲生日
我在八天前滿了六個月。爸爸也難得地不用加班﹐帶了我和媽咪出去逛 mall。看到那麼多人和新鮮的事物﹐我好開心喲!
上個週五媽媽帶了我去做身體檢查。媽媽最近有點神經質﹐常常擔心一些有的沒有的事情。所以﹐那天她跟醫生談了很久﹐問了很多問題。結論是﹕我的身體健康得不得了! 以下就是最新的健康報告﹕
體重﹕16磅 (25%)
身高﹕ 27寸 (75%)
頭圍﹕ 43cm (25-50%)
醫生說我發育得很好 -- 繼續地向上發展。醫生還自言自語地說﹕“我就曉得你會是個又高又壯的孩子”-__-
本來媽媽擔心我的體重想問醫生我有沒有問題﹐聽她這麼一說﹐媽媽的心自然輕下來。醫生又幫我檢查了耳朵﹐因為媽媽看到我常常捉耳朵怕我耳朵發炎。原來﹐我只是發現而有兩隻耳朵在我兩旁﹐覺得奇怪﹐並沒有發炎。醫生幫我檢查時還驚嘆我連ear wax都沒有﹐乾淨得很! 哈哈
至於我最近常常半夜醒來嘛~這有可能是因為我快要出牙。雖然醫生還看不出牙齒快要爆出來﹐她倒是看到了我的牙床開始有點脹。她也告訴了媽媽要為我準備一些東西﹐好讓我牙齒出來那幾天不用那麼難受。哎喲~我怕痛!
好吧﹐媽媽要繼續工作了。你們先看看我最近的照片吧!(喔﹐媽媽笑我有個“M”字頭﹔外婆說我這是“老闆”頭﹔外公說我這是麥當勞叔叔的頭。。。 他們都笑我!氣死我啦!)

It looks like Desmond might have eczema. We saw a patch of dried skin behind his knees! I wonder if that's why he kept reaching for his legs!
I read that I should start putting lotion on him after bath and try to avoid cow's milk products, soy, eggs, peanut butter, wheat, and fish during first year.
I've stayed away from milk and most dairy products for the most part. Looks like I'm going to have to cut out eggs and soy too.

家裡有個病寶寶
宸緯的感冒在這個週末變嚴重了。鼻子塞得呼吸很困難。吃不好也睡不好。每次沒睡多久就會因為呼吸困難而醒過來。不過﹐他也不是哭醒﹐而是叫醒。仿彿﹐心裡很不爽每次睡熟的時候鼻子就進不了空氣。某天晚上吃奶的時候更因為鼻子堵塞呼吸不了而很生氣地停下來。然後大哭抗議。弄了好久好久才停下來! 當然﹐我們也嘗試幫他把鼻涕吸出來。可是他真的很不喜歡人家碰他鼻子﹐每次都放聲大哭。聲音也變得沙啞了。看著年紀小小的宸緯就要如此受罪﹐我難過死了!
最後﹐我們發現罪魁禍首原來是個humidifier! 原來﹐humidifier早在一星期之前已經堵塞了。難怪房間裡那麼的悶熱和乾燥。再加上空氣對流得不好﹐病菌很容易就進入我們身體了。我嘛~也感冒了。我也不曉得是誰傳染給誰。總之﹐這個週末我們兩母子都難過死了!
幸好﹐當發現是humidifier出現問題後﹐外公馬上就把它修好了。所以啊﹐昨天晚上大家都睡了一個好覺。宸緯更是從晚上十點半一直睡到早上六點! 今天鼻子也沒有塞了。
最後﹐我們發現罪魁禍首原來是個humidifier! 原來﹐humidifier早在一星期之前已經堵塞了。難怪房間裡那麼的悶熱和乾燥。再加上空氣對流得不好﹐病菌很容易就進入我們身體了。我嘛~也感冒了。我也不曉得是誰傳染給誰。總之﹐這個週末我們兩母子都難過死了!

每天晚上我們都儘量讓緯寶寶坐在墊子上玩﹐這能鍛煉他的腰。

緯寶寶有一群好朋友在床上陪他。他最愛在睡前和醒後和他們聊悄悄話。可是看到我們在床邊﹐他就會停止了。我們好不容易才拍下了以下的video。昨天晚上﹐宸緯就是這樣跟朋友們聊了兩個小時!!!

最新情報
這個月裡面緯寶寶嘗試了很多事情﹕
- 首先﹐他發現了左腳的存在
- 緯寶寶好喜歡玩Matthew仔的Exersaucer! 他更會自己按上面的button讓它發出聲音! 我們把他錄下來了
- 緯寶寶開始嘗試吃麥糊了。每次都吃得像個大花臉! 我們也把他錄下來了。
- 緯寶寶學會“叫”了。昨天晚上有點像跟大家聊天。發脾氣時的叫聲可是響亮得很! 之前還擔心他可能有點黐痢筋﹐聽到他的叫聲就曉得不可能! 我真擔心我的耳朵有天會開始撞聾! -___-”
- 緯寶寶可以沒有support地自己坐5-10秒。有video為證!
